A Good Textbook
I used "Telling Tales" for a drama class and almost all of the plays were well-received and generated good discussions. The book had a good blend of famous playwrights and unknowns, comedies and dramas, and short plays and lengthier ones. My favorie plays were Terrence McNally's "Andre's Mother" and Richard Greenberg's "The Author's Voice." I wish editor Mark Lane would put out a second volume of one-act plays.
Good for Small Scenes This compilation was very interesting. It lacked a little in the plays with many characters. If you are looking for a book of one acts to use for directing experience or for intermediate acting experience, then I highly recomend this book.
