clog dancing LOADED WITH FEMININE WISDOM!
And this is why this CD is much deserving of five stars. Although Jungian analyst Marion Woodman has been enriching and awakening women in her books through the years, this CD speaks to the woman entering, or already in, old age; the woman who has to find new bearings; the woman who is even mystified as to how to cope with and confront her new state. It is a very important CD because it serves as a guide rail and comforter. It offers perspectives that are original and valid.

Now if you have already steeped yourself in Jungian literature, you will find some of this recording redundant. Sure, you've heard it and learned it before. But Marion Woodman, besides relating interesting personal anecdotes, is also an original thinker, and I find that in new "discoveries," she offers the most healing insight.

She questions, for instance, for those of us who have not had enriching maternal care in our early lives: "Without a positive mother, how can we recognize ourselves?" and she goes on to give some extremely useful advice to those of us who find ourselves in this lifelong situation. She also exposits on women who have had positive fathers and mothers, and explains what complexes are more simply and clearly than I have ever encountered.

This CD is at heart about the feminine transformative experience and the sacrifice at the heart of it which must be undertaken if women choose to live all stages of life (as cosmetic surgeons can tell us, many women choose to attempt to dodge this final chapter in various ways).

And she aptly quotes Dr. Jung: "Where your fear is, so is your task."

clog dancing The best is yet to be.
Marion Woodman gives us permission to grow old and earn the
wisdom that comes with the spiritual process.

Facing our ego and letting go, facing death of self and letting go and finally facing our physical death and letting go to our "essence".

Once we are able to confront our fears, only then will we have reached our spiritual bliss and live in peace and harmony with ourselves and one another.
