Ride a Dancing Horse Kelly Sheridan watches Diego Villanueva put his Andalusian show horse through its paces. Kelly is there to apply for the position of assistant horse trainer at Rancho Villanueva. Diego, the owner, has Kelly demonstate her riding ability. She does well enough that despite the ranch's immense financial difficulties, Diego hires her. Within days of her hire, some mares are poisoned with bad hay. Things really don't look good for the ranch's future with the loss of four valuable mares. On top of this, Diego must learn to deal with his overwhelming guilt for his wife's death the previous year. Then there's Diego's growing attraction to this vibrant woman. His desire builds. Kelly becomes aware of Diego as a man and her desire blossoms as well.
More problems plague the ranch as the stallion barn catches fire and Diego
accuses Kelly of trying to destroy everything. After all, she never gave him her resume when he hired her. Kelly, in turn, is determined to clear her name, seeking the real perpetrator behind these disasters. Who's trying to destroy Rancho Villanueva? Is it a personal grudge against Diego? Could this mean Diego's wife's death might not have been an accident? Will Kelly and Diego have a future together?
Eileen Watkins' story To Ride A Dancing Horse gave me a wonderful inside look into the marvelous world of rare Andalusian horses and those who breed and train them. The romance between Kelly and Diego was well executed. Their care for the horses' well-being and for each other makes them seem so real and full of love I felt I could reach out and touch them. I have witnessed first hand the magnificent performances given by Andalusians and was captivated by the experience. Therefore I was absorbed by Ms.Watkins' vivid evocation of this remarkable breed. I look forward to another story by Ms. Watkins!
