The poems are very well chosen and the fact that each poem is only 4 lines, helps the reader. It is something you can carry with you and open it anywhere, anytime for inspiration.
a masterpiece in translation
These original translations of 300 quatrains from the Divan-i Shams-i Tabriz are filled with the most wisdom and love there can be in such a short form. The quatrains are filled to the brim with the joy of going home, settling in the palace and drinking wine at the King's feast. In his first translation "Fountain of Fire", Nader Khalili presented 75 odes from the Divan. Although the odes are in a more musical flavour, these short poems are in quality and eloquence of Rumi translations - like Fountain of Fire - unquestionable at the spearhead.
