Live performances from Warsaw Chopin competition This CD is a compilation of 13 in-concert performances by competitors at a Chopin competition in Warsaw (year not specified). As such it provides an interesting sampling of Chopin's solo piano works in a variety of performance styles. Pianists familiar with these works will especially enjoy the variety of selections and interpretations. As a non-pianist, I am somewhat disappointed in the variable acoustics between artists, from brilliant and clearly defined (resembling the acoustics of a recording studio) to distant and muted (resembling the acoustics of a large concert hall). This may be due to a variation in pianos, microphone placement, engineering, or possibly even concert location. The audience, fortunately, is well-behaved and there is little ambient noise. Two pianists (Jan Ekier and Martha Argerich) are listed on the jacket but do not play on the recording. In any case, this is a worthwhile recording for lovers of Chopin, especially at the exceptionally low price.
beautiful I really enjoy this CD. I listen to it at work or while relazing at home. It is very nice
