 Most Effective? Really?
I have an old house with plumbing that clogs easily. Was hoping this would do the trick, but alas, I was disappointed.
This little gadget is heavy, first of all. Didn't expect that. And its designed to simply turn the crank and have the snake feed into the drain, except it wouldn't go down--i had to manually push it into the drain. And it wouldn't go. Later I bought a $1.98 drain cleaner device(the Zip-It--got mine at Menards and its fab!) that pulled out a bunch of hair so then I knew what the problem was. My point being that it couldn't feed through hair so I'm not sure the name "most effective drain cleaner" can be true.
The weight of it, the slippery crank and the fact that it couldn't push itself into the drain merit it at 1 star. It might work very well on straight pipes or larger pipes, but that's not where I tested it.

Doesn't work as directions indicate. Spinning the handle does not cause the snake/wire to move out or into the coil.
this thing blows
this doesnt feed out on its own or retract the snake on its own simply by turning the drum, no siree! You gotta handle the nasty cable with your hands just like the cheap ones. Plus the design is cumbersome and the spring head it very wide so it won't fit through tight bends and doesn't "snake" through pipes on its own when cranked, it just spins. I purchased another flat snake after trying this one and had much better luck. If you got drain problems I wouldn't rely on this. although the design looks good and is touted as effective it doesn't work well and will most likely frustrate someone already frustrated by a nasty backup.
 Open your pipe
I bought this took it home and in 1 minute pull a huge wad of hair out of the bathtub drain. Works fast and easy to use. Only bad thing for someone who does not know how to use a snake, because it didn't come with instructions.
